By 1920 most of the immigrants had landed in the northern tier of states in the U.S.,such as Minnesota,Wisconsin,Illlinois,Ohio,New York,& Pennsylvania.

     Of those who came to Pennsylvania,many chose the larger cities of Philadelphia & Pittsburgh,simply for the job opportunities.

     But over the decades the Zonas have melted into the smaller communities. It seems that other than Allegheny County,most of the modern-day Zonas have lived in Ellwood City,with a smaller group living in New Castle. 

     They Anglosized their names,like this:

       GAETANO       became    GERALD

       LUIGI                 became    LOUIS

       GIUSEPPE      became    JOSEPH

       ROSA               became    ROSE

       MARIA              became    MARY
